It is important to do maintenance of the unit, here are several things you can do for the unit’s maintenance.
If you detach the unit’s faceplate frequently this can cause connector’s deterioration, periodically wipe the connectors gently using a cotton swab or cloth moistened with alcohol.
Moisture can condense on the CD player lens after starting the heater in the car and if it becomes very humid in the car, you must eject the disc and keep the unit on for several hours until the moisture evaporates.
When you remove a disc from its case, press down the case center holder and lift the disc out by holding the disc’s edges. Place the disc in the case with the printed surface facing up. Place the disc in in it’s case after use. Good discs prolong the unit’s use.
Dirty disc don’t play well, wipe it with a soft cloth from center to edge in a straight line. Don’t use any solvent like conventional record cleaner, spray, thinner, and so on.
New disc may have rough spots around the inner and outer edges, this may cause the player reuse to play the disc. Use pencil or pen to rub the edges to remove the rough edges.
