To properly connect your amp is quite easy. Here are few steps to properly connect them.

First and importantly, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuiting. And also make sure you’ve purchased an amplifier kit from car audio shop, that will contain all the wiring requirements for the connections, also check for the wiring gauge to match the amp, get also a wire cutters and wire strippers.

Place the amp in non-showing place like in the car boot or under the seat for a security reasons, it can make the wiring much easier too.

Now for the connection, connect the red wire to the positive side of the battery and should have a fuse of an appropriate size of the amp within 45 cm or 18 inches of the battery, and run them through the car’s firewall, underneath the carpet, to the amp.

Take the black wire and connect them to the negative amp’s terminal, and needs a contact with a clean bare metal on the car’s body, a metal bolt screw is a perfect place to connect to. This wire should also run underneath the car’s carpet away from the amp.

Connect the amp and the head unit with the RCA cables. To avoid mix up, keep these as far as possible from the power wires although keeping them under the carpet.

Link the amp to the main stereo using the blue wire. Connect it to the stereo system’s blue wire and you can access the amp from the head unit.

And for final step, connect the amp to the speakers, separate the cable and distinct from the power cable as far as possible. Reconnect the negative car battery and you should be good to go.
