An amp is a gadget that amplifies the voltage, current or amplitude the signal produced by the sound source like a head unit, a stereo or other kind of player that can produce signals, because an amp is usually for boosting audio and producing a sense-surround sound quality.
The amp will recreate a crisper and louder sound because an amp increase the signal voltage from millivolt range up to 1-4 volts or even higher because the typical player produce an extremely low signals. These signals may vary, some are 5 Hz – 40 kHz, while other system produce 20 Hz – 20 kHz. The process is the signal is connected from the RCA cables to the amp’s inputs, and then the amp gives this wave a very high amplitude.
An amp use a lot of voltage from the car battery. So using a better car battery means better car audio system.
