Installing your PRS-D1200SPL require some of safety precaution before you decide where you want to install the amplifier. First disconnect the negative battery terminal before you do anything further. Make sure the installation spot has a proper ventilation, free from any liquid contacts, the installation spot should be a sufficiently rigid location.
First install the bass boost remote control that came with the amplifier in an accessible location such as under the dash with two 3mm x 10mm taping screws.
After you find the best place to install your PRS-D1200SPL, such as the floor mat or on the chassis, put in the the 4mm x 18mm screw into the screw holes, make mark spot on where the installation holes are about to be placed.
Now with a drill make a hole at the point marked of 2.5mm holes. But make sure the holes you are about to drill on the panel doesn’t have any parts behind it. You also have to make sure important parts like cables, fuel lines, brake lines and electrical wiring are safe from any damage. After creating 4 holes you can firmly install your PRS-D1200SPL on the carpet or directly on the chassis.
After you install the PRS-D1200SPL check the amplifier’s connection, reconnect the negative battery terminal to see if the system operate properly, check also are the spare tire, jack and tools can be easily removed.
If you find the yellow indicator lights up it means the temperature within the amplifier is rising, or if you find the red indicator lights up that mean there are some problem with the amplifier, stop using the amplifier and check the amplifier’s location, switch the power to the OFF system, check the amplifier’s and subwoofer’s connection, detect and solve the problem. Contact your dealer if you can’t detect the cause.
