Installing car audio amplifiers, it’s a complicated task and is also difficult. However, I will explain the steps to install car audio amplifier with a fairly straightforward task. Follow sequentially the installation steps of car audio amplifier bellow:
- See which side of your car battery is active. Disconnect the battery’s negative terminal.
- Find a place to run electrical wire through the firewall. looking for an empty rubber grommets, which hides a hole factory unused. You can only put a hole in this grommets and run your wire through.
- If you do not find the hole from the factory, make a hole with a power drill and steel drill bits. Before drilling bits specify which will end after going through the firewall.
- Give the paint edge of the hole to protect it from rust.
- Install the rubber grommets into the holes so that cables are protected from chaffing. Caulk between the inner diameter of the rubber grommets and electrical wires, so that water does not flow in wires.
- Plug the cable from the interior of the vehicle, through a hole up to the battery area.
- Install in-line fuse holder for power cables, try as closely as possible with a second battery terminal connection.
- Pull back the carpet in the area you intend to run the power wire.
- Snake the power wire to it’s final termination point (connected to a power distribution block if you use multiple amplifiers).
- Protect all the wires with plastic protector.
- And then run the RCA Cables and remote turn-on lead.
- Plug and connect your speaker wires Between your amplifier and your speakers
- Connect the speaker wires to your amplifier with appropriate connectors
- Connect the negative terminal of your amplifier into the chassis of your vehicle
- After all connections are in place and all cables are secure, enter the main electric fuse wire
- Reconnect the battery negative terminal
- Done… and try with caution
